Not so long ago, it was hard to brush off the buzz online about Twitter marketing tools. Twitter was regarded as a good new way of getting a list of people whom you could target to advertise your products. But the question is, were any of those programs that were introduced, actually doing you any good? We will talk about Twitter marketing and whether or not it is worth your time and expense as part of your online marketing campaign.I was one of those who wanted to determine if getting a huge following on Twitter was going to help my product promotion endeavors and so paid for the tools. I ended up buying and joining programs that would get me followers and programs that would actually advertise my products for me. In all, I think I invested in about 8 software programs to help with my Twitter marketing adventure.I bought a program that would automatically follow people for me in an attempt to get them to follow me back. Next there was the Twitter marketing tool that would un-follow individuals who were not following me. This would enable me to follow different individuals once again to get them to follow me. A few of the software I paid for are not interesting enough to bring up but I will just mention a good program that auto-Tweeted any blog posts I made each time they were published. And when I started using all of these tools the results seemed to be astounding because they all did just what they said they would do. Nevertheless, my happiness was quickly crushed when I realized that I wasn’t making any money. Every day I would post more or less ten blog entries knowing that they would then automatically be displayed on Twitter also. Then I found a way to have all the posts done for me automatically, thinking that the more posts I would have the more folks who would see them.The results of my Twitter marketing efforts are: Utilizing this strategy over three years led to almost 10,000 people following me on Twitter. You’d probably be really happy to achieve that number of followers, but there’s more to come. Also in the past three years I have had more than fifteen thousand of my blog posts that were promoting affiliate products added to my Twitter account. Besides that, I did no extra promotion for that blog, in fact I didn’t even ping the new blog entries to discover how good Twitter was could be. Well I found, in the last 3 years I pulled in 2 affiliate sales for a total of $48, and I pulled in $8.52 with Adsense. And that particular blog only gets about 2 to 4 visitors a day from Twitter. Even with nearly 10,000 Twitter followers and using software automation, it seems that this is not enough to make money marketing with Twitter. The bottom line is that the money I’ve pulled in is not sufficient to cover the cost of the Twitter tools I purchased to start with. Finally, I cannot personally recommend using automatic software tools as a good method of advertising your products on Twitter.
